Welcome to this week's edition of The Lioness Letter.
A Note From Shannon 🩷
There’s something powerful about feeling prepared.
Whether you’re heading back to campus, starting a new routine, or simply moving through your everyday life, confidence doesn’t mean you have to be fearless. It means trusting yourself, staying aware, and knowing you can handle what comes your way.
That’s what Pink & Fierce has always been about—helping women feel strong without changing who they are.
You can be soft. You can be kind. You can wear the pink. And still be fierce.
With love & fierceness, Shannon

Remarkable Woman
Frida Kahlo
"At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can."
Frida Kahlo turned her pain into art and individuality into power. Through illness, injury, heartbreak and adversity, she created work that was unapologetically her own.
She refused to shrink herself to fit expectations-and became an enduring symbol of resilience, creativity, and authenticity.
Pink & Fierce Reflection
Your strength doesn't have to look like anyone else's. Own your story. Own your power.
Self Defense Spotlight
This week: Use Your Voice & Set Boundaries

Your voice is one of your most powerful self-defense tools — and you already have it with you. If someone is making you uncomfortable or crossing a boundary, be clear and direct. “STOP.” “BACK UP.” “DON’T TOUCH ME.”
Using your voice can draw attention, reinforce your boundary and let someone know you are prepared to protect yourself.
You don't have to be polite when you feel unsafe.
Your voice communicates that you recognize what is happening, you are setting a boundary, and you expect it to be respected.
You do not have to wait for a situation to become physical before you protect your space.
Pink & Fierce Principle:
Be Loud. Be Clear. Be Confident. Use your Voice and ROAR!
College Safety Corner
Late Nights? Have a Plan.
Late-night study sessions, campus events, and time with friends are part of college life. The goal isn't to avoid being out after dark- it's to have a plan for getting back home safely.
Walk with a friend when you can, stick to well-lit and populated routes, know how to access your campus safety escort service and let someone know where you are headed and returning.
Pink & Fierce Tip
Don't wait until you need help to learn what safety resources your campus offers. Know before you go.

This Week in Pink & Fierce
This week, the College Safety Series continued at Elon University, where I filmed our second college safety tip.
College life often means late-night studying, activities and time with friends.
The goal isn't to avoid campus after dark — it's to have a plan. Walk with a friend when you can, know what safety resources your campus offers, and choose well-lit, populated routes.
Preparation isn't about fear. It's about confidence.
And that is exactly what I want every young woman to carry with her onto campus.

With grace & fierceness,
